TLH Draggin & DragginFly’s own Melissa Alford isn't just playing the game—she’s changing it. From the local pitches of Tallahassee to the national stage, Melissa is a powerhouse for youth soccer development.
As a full-time leader at Warner Soccer and a dedicated FYSA board member, Melissa recognized a critical gap in the sport and took action. She launched the "Girls in Soccer" initiative, a visionary program designed to reverse declining participation by reimagining what it means to be an athlete.
More Than Just a Scoreboard
Recently spotlighted by U.S. Soccer, the program shifts the focus from the final whistle to the "whole player." By integrating essential pillars like nutrition, mental health, and injury prevention, Melissa is ensuring that young athletes are as resilient as they are skilled.
For Melissa, the ultimate victory isn't found in the standings—it's found in the confidence and empowerment girls carry with them long after they leave the pitch.

Under the leadership of our fearless DragginFest Chairman, Garvin Bowden, TLH Draggins donated a $1,000 to the Movember Foundation, an organization dedicated to changing the face of men’s health. And that ain't so bad for a bit of old farts on the pitch!
The Movenmber Foundation funds global research and local projects tackling prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health suicide prevention. Draggins Supporting Local Schools
In the fall of 2024, the TLH Draggins donated new soccer equipment to Godby High School, last year we expanded that effort to support 3 programs at Richards & Gadsden County High Schools and Griffin Middle School. In 2026 we will expand that even further. Stay tuned for how you can help.
